Ricoh Group Supplier Code of Conduct
The Ricoh Group Supplier Code of Conduct covers topics including human rights, environmental conservation and as of 2016, a clause on the freedom of association based on the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention. We expect our suppliers to comply with the standard outlined in this policy.
Human Rights in Supply Chain
We assess human rights risks in the supply chain on an ongoing basis to identify risks and set targets. In 2017, we introduced a self-assessment approach based on major international standards in alignment with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Reducing the environmental impact of our supply chain
We have 21 major production sites across Japan, the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific and China. To efficiently and sustainably deliver our products and services to our customers around the world, we have a globally coordinated approach to design, information systems and other functions from procurement to collection and recycling. By aligning our processes and reducing waste around packaging, transportation and storage, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of our supply chain.

Supplier audits
In 2009, we introduced a CSR self-assessment system to help our suppliers implement a “plan, do, check, act” process. This approach ensures that all of our suppliers meet the same standards regarding human rights, environmental conservation, health & safety and other key areas. Following the results from the self-assessments, we identify any areas requiring improvement and provide support to help our suppliers meet the right standard.

Sourcing of conflict minerals
We strongly support the Conflict Minerals rule that was adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2012. The rule requires listed companies to disclose and report to the SEC the use of conflict minerals originating from the Democratic Republic of Congo and surrounding countries.
We are constantly working to improve transparency in our supply chain to ensure responsible mineral sourcing practices. We are also an active member of the “Responsible Minerals Trade Working Group” launched in May 2012 by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). Since 2013, we have been conducting annual investigations on responsible mineral resource procurement in collaboration with our suppliers.
